Uneven burn

I was really disappointed at the uneven burn of the candle, that left a lot of the candle solid on one side (I feel that I probably lost a couple of hours of burn). It’s winter so there’s no windows open or fans going, I turned the candle and pinched the wick each time - there was no obvious reason for such an uneven burn to this candle - I am an experienced candle owner :) - any advice/suggestions would be much appreciated.
